One of Pop-Punk`s most highly anticipated festivals is fast approaching once again this class for another whirl-wind of musical mayhem right across the UK this May Bank Holiday weekend.

The Slam Dunk Festival will be in its 5th year run for 2011, and promises to have only the better in all your punk/emo/ska/metal/alternative needs.

Flash back to survive year`s line up, it looks almost inconceivable to deal with headliner acts such as New Found Glory, Alkaline Trio and Four Year Strong, but the fine folk over at Slam Dunk have pulled out all the stops this class to affect us yet again with some solid musical acts such as The Starting Line, Less Than Jake, Mayday Parade and even pop sensation 3OH!3 will be making an appearance over the weekend.

Both Leeds and London will be split between 7 stages with over 50 bands playing across each venue.

The Jagermeister Stage will be where all the principal action will be taking office in Leeds and Hatfield. Highlights will almost certainly admit a performance from one of Philadelphia`s finest The Starting Line, along with the balance of the highly punk/ska orientated line up including Anti-Flag, Goldfinger, Less Than Jake, The Skints and headliners of the day, Reel Big Fish.

If alternative medicine with a pop influence is your thing, then you`ll most probably be ripping your time between The Atticus Stage and the Award Over Glory Stage for the day. Headliners 3OH!3 will almost certainly take out the fun summery side to the festival weekend, performing all their chart hits on the Atticus stage. Other Atticus stage bands worth checking out would include The Dangerous Summer as they kick off the root of the day, as good as Floridian five-piece Mayday Parade. There will be enough of home grown talent across both stages, with Framing Hanley and Francesqa on the Atticus stage, and We Are The Ocean headlining the Award Over Glory stage along with Deaf Havana, Feed The Rhinoceros and Yashin.

Pop-Punk`s haven this class will be taking seat on the Macbeth Stage. The full day is set out with both new and well established bands in the genre, and will unquestionably be a popular stage across the weekend with the avid Pop-Punk listeners in attendance. With The Punches have lately been constrained to draw out of their entire UK and Irish tour including all Slam Dunk dates due to Visa restrictions completely out of their control.

Me Vs Hero will replace them as the opening act on the Macbeth stage (North), while Paige will be replacing the ring in Hatfield (South) the following day. Californian band This Time Next Year and Boston`s A Loss For Words will be following suit after each opening act, North and South. Both bands have been playing several shows right across Ireland and the UK for the final two weeks, so if those shows are anything to go by, their sets at this year`s Slam Dunk Festival will decidedly not wish to be missed. Attack! Attack! (UK) And Trust will be A Loss For Words, and headliners for this year`s Macbeth stage will be none other than one of live year`s festival highlights - Hit The Lights and Set Your Goals, as they pass for another bout of Slam Dunk mayham.

The Front Bar for each venue will place host to several DJ acts as usual, including the likes of Faceplant, MC Lars, Innerpartysystem and dupstep headliners; Tek One.

As usual, there will be an acoustic stage, this year hosted by Punktastic.com. Acts will include Sam Little, Tiger Please, Lost On Campus and Jimmy Holland.

The Kerrang! Introducing stage will once again be playing host to competition winner as the opening act of the day (Adelaide), which is a very promising prize if last year`s winners Francesqa are anything to go by, as they are performing the Atticus stage this year after taking the slot in last year`s competition. Basement, who are one of the headliners of the presentation stage, will definitely be worth checking out in between Macbeth stage bands, if Pop-Punk/Emo is your thing. The Ipswich band will be the moment last band to submit to the presentation stage before Summerlin. The Summer Set have likewise been recently added as last minute special guests on the K! Introducing stage for 2011. However the Arizona group will just be playing Slam Dunk North, with The King Blues taking the situation as special guest at the Hatfield date. On top of that the three emerging bands in Blitz Kids, Lower Than Atlantis and Don Broco will likewise be acting the Kerrang! Introducing stage

Slam Dunk weekend promises to be one to think with a wonderful line up catering to all your alternative music needs, and if that wasn`t enough, there will likewise be an after party taking place in each venue with particular DJs and performances from Slam Dunk acts, with the opportunity to rub shoulders with your favourite bands as they party on land for the aftershow.
